Rise Up For Buller Saturday 24 September 2022 NBS theatre / 7:30pm start.
A top-class musical event is on the way for the people of Buller, featuring an exciting selection of Aotearoa’s talent.
The past year has been challenging for Westport with the risk of future events and the stress every time it rains has resulted in ongoing anxiety and stress for the town. So we’re holding a night of much-needed music, fun and relaxation for adults aged 18 and over.
The aim of this event is to encourage social connection for flood impacted adults in Westport and the wider Buller area. It will bring the community together in a fun and safe social environment to enjoy top-class bands & Dj’s.
Daimon Schwalger (Nomad Audio and Video) is an experienced national event organiser and is bringing a high-quality line up direct to Westport. An area that for many years has not had the opportunity to have these types of artist perform to local audiences.
Artists line up include:
Coyote: Award winning solo artists Amiria Grenell and Holly Arrowsmith moonlight as Country duo ‘Coyote”. Old time harmonies, duelling guitars and a few tall tales to boot. https://vimeo.com/742104600
Reece Milton & Band: His sound is guitar driven indie pop rock with a subtle funk influence. His unique ability to craft lyrics that are mostly based on themes instead of real events gives his listeners licence to develop their own response to them and his guitar solos are the stuff air guitar dreams are made of. https://youtu.be/fO41xTTCHAM
Aj Hickling: From humbly offering up his music as a street performer, to playing in concert halls on the finest of instruments, Aj has enchanted his audiences, taking them on journeys of depth and sensitivity that are rare in today’s fast paced world. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFVBxjyTG6s
The Nomad with MC Antsman: For award winning electronic music pioneer Daimon Schwalger, aka The Nomad, the wandering existence has been all about building strong connections with people and places. Joining him on the mic will be long-time collaborator MC Antsman, best known for his smooth vocals with Wellington dub fusion band Rhombus.
