Safe Refuge for Lorraine and furry friends
“If I’d been working that day, Heidi and Amber would have drowned.”
A chilling reminder for local resident, Lorraine Hartigan, about the dramatic escape her beloved Japanese pug dogs had on the day of the flood.

Housing Site Updates
Stafford Street Site
Work is progressing well at the Stafford Street housing site and we have seen wonderful community spirit in action from local and ‘top of the South’ Rotary members this week. Rotary visited the houses and have very generously offered to supply beds and bedroom furniture. They are also considering how they may be able to help with curtains and blinds. Additionally, Tonkin + Taylor and Haier Appliances have kindly offered to donate new whiteware for all five houses. Read more…
Queen Street Site
The three MBIE/TAS houses are now secured to their piles.
Sewer, storm water and mains water supply have been trenched at the road and piped to the property boundary. Connections into the internal plumbing, drainage and downpipe connections will follow in the coming weeks and each house will then be tested to ensure all plumbing and drainage fixtures and fittings are working and are safe and compliant.
