Alma Road Update (4 November 2022)

Working with Community Navigators

Last week (Thursday 27 October and Friday 28 October), the TAS Matching and Placement team worked alongside the Community Navigators at the Hub. They met with TAS residents and discussed their longer-term accommodation needs.

Eleven households braved the weather in their raincoats and gumboots with the TAS team to have a sneak preview of the homes and were excited to see the progress. More information on the move will be communicated in future updates.

Mahi tahi with our community

TAS continues to work collectively with the Buller District Council, the Flood Recovery Navigators and other stakeholders to ensure people have secure accommodation and provide wrap around services to support flood affected residents.

TAS encourages anyone in the community who has a current or future need for temporary accommodation, to register with TAS at www.tas.mbie.govt.nz. To speak to someone from TAS, you can call 0508 754 163 or send an email to westcoast.tempaccom@mbie.govt.nz.

And finally, we know those orange warnings keep coming and boy do they wear on the nerves, but they’re a good reminder to be prepared (if you aren’t already an absolute expert).

Here are some tips from Civil Defence…
